We've Hit the Ground Running

So, we're finally able to take a moment and give an update on our journey. It's been a crazy last few weeks. Since Christmas we've traveled to Michigan, hauled two truckloads from Savannah to Atlanta, moved into our home and I've been leading worship for Gospel Hope the last two weeks. Having lived in pretty much one place our entire married life, I think we were unaware of how much is involved with the sale of a house and a move into a new home and a new job. God has been so gracious to provide strength and resources for us in this season and we are truly feeling blessed.

We are praising God for...

  • the faithful generosity of so many friends and family who have given time and money to make our transition as smooth as possible.

  • the safety and smoothness of our travels.

  • the new home that Gospel Hope and SEND Network have made possible for us to inhabit as we prepare for our move to Puerto Rico.

  • the gracious sending of One Savior Church and the warm reception of Gospel Hope Church.

  • the seeming success of the sale of our house. Lord-willing, we will be closing on the house in early February.

  • our children are doing well, making new friends here and connecting with old friends via their iPad.

What we are looking forward to....

  • I'm currently working on setting up a date for Maria and I to take a vision trip to Puerto Rico.

  • I'll be leading a School of Prayer Community Group for Gospel Hope on Tuesday Nights.

  • Our home is already setup for company (we've already hosted two families for an overnight stay), so we're hoping to see many of you as you pass through the Atlanta area.

  • On that note, Zac and Elaine and their kiddos will be visiting us in early February.

  • I'll be connecting with a bunch of Atlanta church planters through an upcoming conference in late February.

  • We're going to start Spanish language classes in February with the pastor of Gospel Hope Español.

We are continuing to pray for...

  • settled hearts and rhythms as we navigate a new home, a new church, and new city.

  • financial resources for our family as we set our aim on making disciples and planting churches in Puerto Rico.

  • success in our endeavor to learn the Spanish language.

  • gospel fruit as we minister to our neighbors and to the church here.

Thank you for your prayers for us! We are deeply grateful for the love we've experienced from so many our brothers and sisters in Christ. Please keep praying and know that we are praying for you.

We also would really love for you to partner with us as we pursue the mission of church planting in Puerto Rico. We believe God has called us to this work and we think it's an investment in the kingdom worth making. If you'd like to give to us you can do so here. In the drop down menu it will say "Canfield Family Support." Any gift is helpful as we trust the Lord to provide for us through the generosity of his people. You can setup monthly giving or give a one-time gift.
